Department of Biology Lands American Fisheries Society Awards
Dr. Brad Cook, senior faculty member in the Department of Biology, was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Fisheries Society at their February 2025 meeting for his significant contributions to fisheries science and management in Tennessee. Dr. Cook has taught fisheries science at Tennessee Tech for more than three decades. Additionally, Biology M.S. students Seth Hasten and Hannah Swain were awarded best poster presentation and runner-up best oral presentation at the meeting, respectively, and undergraduate researcher Eduardo Tuala-Hidalgo was awarded runner-up best poster presentation.
