Andrew Whittenbarger wins the Derryberry Award
Join us in congratulating Andrew Whittenbarger for receiving the Derryberry Award!
This prestigious award is the highest honor given to students at Tennessee Tech. The
Derryberry Award is presented annually to one graduating senior who has exhibited
scholastic attainment arising out of moral and intellectual integrity; successful
campus activity where participation indicates a commitment to good citizenship, interest
in one’s fellow person, and instincts for leadership; and physical vigor as shown
by fondness for and success in sports – all of which demonstrate potential for future
service and effective leadership in American society. Congratulations Andrew!
Biernacki receives two international awards from American Ceramic Society
Joseph Biernacki, professor of chemical engineering and University Distinguished Faculty Fellow, recently received two international distinctions from the American Ceramic Society: the Della Roy Lecture Award and the Brunauer Award.
Chemical Engineering Professor and Students Awarded Prestigious Brunauer Award
Professor Joseph Biernacki and students Donald Visco Jr., Naresh Tadisina, Hamed Kayello, Natalia Shlonimskaya were awarded the Brunauer Award from the American Ceramic Society. The award recognizes the best paper published in the Journal of the American Ceramic Society on a cements related topic. The following paper won the prize:
