As a student with ITAC, you will

  • Visit manufacturing plants of all sizes and types
  • Learn about industrial energy efficiency in real-world environments
  • Be trained how to use instruments to take measurements of manufacturing plant equipment
  • Learn how to write professional assessment reports
  • Learn professionalism and other soft skills
  • Make industry contacts and networking
  • Receive certificate from US Dept of Energy (after 6 assessments)
  • Receive hourly pay starting at $15/hour
  • 20 hr/wk Graduate Research Assistantships available with monthly stipend and tuition and fees paid (Masters and Ph.D.)

Requirements

  • Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Undergraduate, or a Graduate Student
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally
  • Schedule flexibility to spend 1 – 2 weekdays per month at manufacturing plants
  • Must have safety shoes for required plant PPE
