Tennessee Tech President’s Ambassadors

The President’s Ambassadors are a select group of students who serve as the university's executive representatives, fostering meaningful connections among the campus community and university guests. The ambassadors help enhance university relationships with students, alumni, friends and leaders by providing warm welcomes, sharing their knowledge and insights as students and offering assistance to ensure positive and memorable university interactions.

All interested candidates must submit an application, resume and two letters of recommendations. Selection will include an interview process and candidates will be notified of the selection by decision email. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours for undergraduate and 6 credit hours for graduates) at Tennessee Tech University and completed at least one semester.
  • Have a semesterly GPA of at least 3.0 and be in good standing with the university. 
  • Expectations for Members:
    • Must work all events hosted by The Office of the President (applicable events are determined by The Office of the President):
      • Fall Semester Events
        • Commencement (participating graduates excluded)
        • Wings Up 100 Ceremony 
        • New Faculty & Admin Reception
        • Board of Trustee Reception(s) - when applicable
      • Spring Semester Events
        • Commencement (participating graduates excluded)
        • Celebration of Excellence
        • Two (2) Development Sessions
        • Board of Trustee Reception(s) - when applicable
    • Must work a minimum of two (2) optional events per semester (applicable events are determined by The Office of Communications and Marketing):
      • Fall Semester Events
        • Senior Salute
        • Athletics Business Before Hours with Football
        • Athletics Business Before Hours with Basketball
        • Preview Day
        • Chamber of Commerce Bizapalooza
        • Lighting the Quad
        • Christmas Chamber Event
        • Employee Appreciation Tailgate
        • University Advancement Special Events
      • Spring Semester Events
        • Senior Salute
        • February Spring Showcase
        • March Spring Showcase

    • Must attend all orientation and training sessions and attend regular meetings (monthly, day/time determined by availability).
    • Must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values of Tennessee Tech University and effectively demonstrates the highest expectations of leadership, respect, spirit and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Benefits for Members:
    • Students who complete all expectations will receive a semesterly stipend at the end of each semester. 
    • President's Ambassador specific apparel.
    • The opportunity to register for spring and fall classes early.
    • Potential networking with prominent community leaders, university leaders and board members. 
    • Advancing leadership skills and public speaking.
    • A letter of recommendation by the president to attach to your resume.
    • Invitations to exclusive events with the university president, Board of Trustees and state and local leaders.
    • Opportunities to provide direct students feedback to the university president.
